9:30- 10:30 Making the Connection –Bill Deutsch (Christian/United Methodist), Katy Awad (Islamic), Michael Sznajderman (Jewish) and Mark Johnston (Christian/Episcopal) bring together faith and environment by sharing their personal stories.

10:30- 11:15 Watershed Walk of Alabama - We will learn about each other’s watersheds by walking the state’s rivers and streams on a huge scale map of Alabama. Come prepared by knowing what river or stream is closest to your home!

11:15 – 11:30 Break

11:30 – 12:00 Water issues in Alabama – Bill Deutsch will guide us through a look at issues surrounding Alabama’s water.

Not in My Backyard! ADEM representative James W. Grassiano will help us learn how to report a problem in our watershed.

12:40 – 1:00 Success Story! - Bob Green of Faith Apostolic tells the story of their Water Darter!

Stream Walk - look for Macroinvertebrates (critters)

Senses Hike – guided nature journaling in Camp McDowell’s canyons

Down to Earth – a hike across the Swinging Bridge and into a sandstone canyon to look at a reclaimed surface Coal Mine and learn of issues related to mining

Macro Mania – for the more sedentary. Learn games to teach about water and the creatures who live there
