Featured Speakers:

Laurie Fowler is an environmental attorney with the University of Georgia who specializes in practical tools local governments can use to restore rivers that are being damaged by growth.  Laurie is on the consulting team for the Upper Cahaba Watershed Study and can help us translate our vision of a Cahaba rescue plan into on-the-ground action.

Larry Watts is the Executive Director of the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, which is coordinating the Upper Cahaba Watershed Study.  Larry will help us understand the planning process, players, what products will result, and the ways citizens can become involved.

Beth Stewart is Executive Director of the Cahaba River Society and has local government planning experience. She will lead a group discussion about how we can organize ourselves to give citizens and the river a powerful voice in the planning process.
